EU foreign chief Josep Borrell (picture) has called the escalation of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel ‘very dangerous and worrying’. ‘Israel and Lebanon are on the brink of all-out war,’ he warned.
The European Union foreign secretary said he remained committed to de-escalating the situation in Lebanon. ‘But our worst expectations are coming true,’ he added.
Israel struck 1,600 targets in Lebanon on Monday. That killed nearly 500 people, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. It was the deadliest day since 2006, according to international media.
He added ❝The international rule system has never been so weakly implemented and disrespected❞. Furthermore, the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell described the situation in Lebanon as ‘very worrying, dangerous’ and warned of a growing risk of regional spillover.
